Illusions of Self
⬇
Illusions of Self explores the ways in which we come to inhabit everyday spaces, objects and minds.
This main series draws together images of the rooms and possessions of my mother’s home after her death, their gradual deterioration and disappearance.
I used my camera and image-making to reflect on the presence embedded within its untouched domesticity.
I have made two accompanying variations that use photomontages and still life to explore the multiple ways of experiencing and understanding the inhabited objects and places in our lives.
